I am watching a film the film based on the Gwen's murder on Lifetime. I don't like the Lifetime channel but the film is supposed to be good. If you aren't familier with Gwen Arajuo here is part of her bio

Gwen Amber Rose Araujo (February 24, 1985 – October 4, 2002, née Edward Araujo, Jr.) was a transgendered teenager who died during or shortly after an attack perpetrated by three young men. The events leading up to Araujo's death were the subject of a pair of criminal trials in which it was alleged that the attackers were angered by the discovery that Araujo — who, at the time, was living as female — was biologically male. In the most recent trial, two of the defendants were convicted of second-degree murder, but the jury concluded that no hate crime was committed. The circumstances of the case have caused it to become a rallying point for the LGBT community, and a number of underreported and controversial aspects about the case remain points of contention.

I watched it from the middle on. I dvr'd it so i'm watching the first part tomorrow. I cried. I never cry at movies. Its so sad. I remember actually reading it on KR when it first happened. She was a very beautiful girl, prettier than any girl I know. I wish in the film they would've had her hair straight and long, like some of the real pictures i've seen of her.

Oh I am watching it now, what a sad story.

gwen is from the bay area. and my sisters friend knew gwen. this one kind of hits home with me, but it was really sad at the funeral. that asshole came and actually protested gwens funeral. it made me sick to my stomach that such a church going asshole, would protest a funeral for someone who was murdered. i wasnt able to watch the whole thing because its very sad.

I thought this movie was really well done, a rarity in the lifetime network. Mercedes Reuhle was fantastic, as was JD Pardo and the guy who played her uncle. The scenes with the uncle were very touching.
