"Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been axed from Melrose Place.

The actress-and-singer has played Violet in the revival of the hit US TV show since March but now producers have decided not to renew her contract along with her co-star Colin Egglesfield.

The show's executive producer Todd Slavkin said: 'It was the original plan going into the development of the show. We felt that once the murder mystery, which involved their characters, was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift ... and Ashlee's character would move on.'"

they need Michael, Sydney, Jane, Jo and Amanda to give it some interest
the dr./hooker thing is an interesting spin

Ashlee doesn't have much to work with on this show...she had better lines in 7th Heaven
