| | | “I risk my life to bring a fugitive to justice and you give me world’s tiniest violin.”
"I don't like the idea of you running arounf a place full of armed, drunk businessmen." "That's why I rarely go to Texas."
“Don’t keep your passwords taped under your stapler.”
“A Pony?!?!?”
“CW? It’s a done deal!” WOOOOOT!

I think this ending was a bit off. I thought about this scenario (lots of people speculated about it) but I could just never buy it, because it’s too much of a 180 for the character. And I don’t think the motive was clear. Why would he have wanted NOT to out Woody? And how would he have had the foresight to make the recording before the crash and (supposedly?) before incorporation was announced. He had no reason to make that way back when. And how did he make sure that Dick gave the bag with the bomb to Betina? Or was it never in the bag?
Also, other than his harsh treatment of Mac, there was really nothing in his character (that we could have known about) that would make this believable. So while, plot wise, it was almost too obvious, it was unbelievable of the character, thus making in a bad choice on two ends. It makes me what to smack Mac for going back. Too naive. And now she has the clap.
Still... I’m nit picking. It was a great ep overall. And I was happy to see LoVe happen, despite myself. I just wish we could have seen Dick’s reaction instead of all the BS with Kendall at the end.
I think they made a good move with Duncan, and Clarence Wheedman is DA MAN!
I was happy with how the jackie thing played out.
I hope they wrap up the stuff with the Mannings next year.

| | | I don't think so, but you can download easily using bittorrent.
Also, the first season (which is amazing too) is available on DVD. |

I think it's necessary to suspend disbelief and just get swept along. Once a show is labelled as "good" people put so much pressure on it to live up to some kind of expectations. It seems like people like best what first draws them into a show and never allow anything to surpass that because they spend so much time worrying about expectations.
I didn't think this episode was by any means perfect, but I loved it. I find Veronica very compelling, and I cannot think of any way of distinguishing the quality of last season from this season. I am not picking on you, because I agree that there is always a risk that a show can get worse, but a lot of people on TWoP are bitching about how terrible this last ep/season was.
It wasn't terrible. It had some weaknesses for sure. But if you just want to piss on other peoples' work why not just go into academia instead of bitching about free entertainment made on a shoestring budget and in a very short period of time.
This show is just so ambitious and exciting. It seems like if people aren't pleased, it says more about them than the show. |

| | | OMG OMG OMG they were right. why did the speculators on twp be right.
poor mac
poor veronica
omg LoVe...rob you had better not split them up. i will kill you if you do this, but i guess with college beckoning no kane scholarship mentioned but well she did leave that test (but surely she'd have gotten special consideration)
duncan in mollymook oz!!!!!!!!!
way to go logan. "you're not a killer" except i totally thought he was going to kill beaver himself because he's totally hot for veronica. i mean the look on his face when she said he raped her.
and woah jackie.....i had a feeling aout that when she and terrance were talking "i learnt about it the hard way" (e.g sex)
kendall, what have you got keith to do
woody you suck..so to speak
to be honest the motivations whilst plausible, still sucked. poor peter and marcos. i agree with annie. it was too much of a 180 and i didn' tbuy him wanting to keep it a secret. so does this mean he raped mac??? and yes i'd like to know about the mannings as well, i mean shit they abused their kids
i mean fuck woody abused beav and he fucking RAPED veronica (and maybe mac), you'd think he'd have noticed he had the clap and shit surely by now if they were raped as little kids that their clap would've been dealt with??
i loved the dream sequnece, life if lily lived, she'd have not met wallace but interesting she'd have been with logan. but the memorial fountain - total clue it was a dream and to wake up.
poor weevil, i hope this gets sorted next season.
the ending kinda summed up the season - a lot of promise but way too much stuff that wasn't explained well enough or alluded to as well though it started to come together.
i reckon next season *is* the hearst rape. because now veronica knows the truth and will relieve the experience again and will be very determined to find the rapist. last season she had a huge emotional stake in finding lily's killer -0 it was her best friend plus her dad's downfall was part of that. this season yeah she had a huge stake because she thought it was meant for her but it wasn't as huge as last season (which is probably why things this season were a bit off kilter).
i am so sad its over though and we have to wait til nearly october for a new season and hell i'm already annoyed its mid may, where did january go?? for that matter where did 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 go?>

| | IMO it's totally possible for the 3rd season of a show to be just as good as the preceding two seasons. Buffy, Gilmore Girls, Angel, 24, etc.
I think the splitting up of the mysteries into the 7-7-8 or 8-7-7 episode format will help a lot with dropped plotlines and red herrings next season. Quote: |

| I don't think Beav raped Mac. He texted Veronica, took Mac's clothes while she was in the shower (so she couldn't leave), then went to the roof. He didn't have time to rape her, plus he'd just tried to have sex with her anyway.
Keep in mind that Beaver was probably only 14 or so when he raped Veronica and he was in Little League at most a few years earlier. Plus, if he was asymptomatic like Veronica was he'd be as unlikely to know as V.
LOGANANDVERONICAWHEEE! He cooked her breakfast! |

So raping Mac who was conscious and would have told is inconsistent with his MO. |

| | | I'm a little sad about that. I liked everything going on at once, I just would have liked to see it tie up a bit better. I suppose it makes it a lot harder for occasional viewers and those with not so many brain cells though. Grrr. I hope it doesn't feel dumbed down. |

| | | I don't think it'll dumb it down. They can still have good stories and they won't need to write as much filler. Each episode will have more content that actually leads to solving the mystery. |

| | | I hope so! I'm a little sad that VM is going to Hearst instead of Standford though... her dreams... her talent... *sigh*
Back to the new structure - I think that it probably will be better. I think the ambition of the show has been just a tiny bit beyond the talent of the writers. Especially this season. I would have liked to see them rise to the occasion, but without more viewer and the budget that would allow them to hire some more seasoned talent (and a godamn legal advisor), this is probably the safer route. |

| | | They had better not mess with LoVe. but $10 says they will, she'll meet new boys at hearst or something.
i do feel bad for cassidy he was always the "beav" i can see why he kept the secret but isn't it interesting the two other guys involved were gay.
Question: Is there any significance to the ring Veronica has recently been wearing on her right ring finger? — Sherry
Thomas: No.
I"ve been wondering what the hell was going on with that! the last two eps KB has been wearing a ring. it looked fucking odd. |

My read was that Marcos was not. The only connection I see between their orientation and thw whole debacle is that because they were gay/perceived to be gay, they were better able to grapple with the idea of coming out about Woody, having already done the mental work of thinking about coming out as gay. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
