i really wanted to hate it, i was pretty much determined to (i tried really hard to hate amelie, i sort of resent it a little for making me like it) - cause i didnt like the idea of the story and i love GRIM mike leigh but i loved it

and now that i think of it, she does have a very gelf quality? especially post-house burning down gelf

i might d/l to watch again

on a grim side note, have you ever seen a film called 'dead man's shoes' by shane meadows? it's really fucked up and sad so dont watch it when fragile, but i think you would really love the main actor

it should be on dvd? though it might not have gotten a release in the states now that i think of it, it's pretty low budget and he only got big last year with this is england so maybe that;s why?
