I forgive Gus Van Sant

Seriously. I never liked the idea of watching his films in the cinema, because frankly, Elephant was possibly my worst movie experience, and I struggled, I did to understand it. I was the most appaled by the two boys kissing in the shower before they go and murder people, because it was like wtf, what are you trying to say?

ANYWAY

I obviously couldn't resist Milk: because the theme and Harvey Milk interest me a lot, and Sean Penn is always brilliant....

And OH MY GOD
wasn't that an excellent film?

People were clapping by the end of it.
Have you seen people clap in the cinema?
It's very exciting...

Anyway, Gus Van Sant is good in my book now.

I was VERY worried when I found out he had directed Milk...

Elephant was just awful and what was that other film he did? It was terrible too. ---oh yes, Last Days. I IMDBd it
Apparently he also did Good Will Hunting? I had no idea
and Finding Forrester... But that was awful too

I didn't realize he did "normal" movies
I thought he only did arty shit like Elephant but now I am seeing he isn't so bad really.

Milk was very good. I like the old-timey clips

Just the idea behind "Last Days" makes me cringe and is kind of laughable.
Maybe he was on something. Actually, Paranoid Park is not that bad.
It was on TV last night after I came back from seeing Milk, and I said to myself Oh Ok, let's give this a chance.

I think Elephant-Paranoid Park-Last Days are supposed to be part of some sort of trilogy, it should be called the "don't waste your time" trilogy.

I am glad it's over and I am glad he got Milk.
