I didn't see the terminator movies when they first came out, my introduction to the terminator world was the sarah connor chronicles, but I saw some of the movies a few days ago and they are pathetic.

They are the most vile commercial bull**** I've ever seen and a shameless promotional vehicle for Arnold Schawrzenegger.

I am so glad that the sarah connor chronicles exist, because they took the commercial and the arnold out of the equation and created a compelling world, with dramatic depth into the nature of humanity, life and fate.

It's hard to believe that something so shallow and commercial like the terminator movies could span such a great show but I guess it depends on the people behind it. The people behind the movies cared about the money, the show people care about the story.

And it is just such an amazing story on so many levels, I love that show and I hope the new movie follows the style of the show.

First of all, there was no such thing as an "Arnold vehicle" when the first one was made. The second one is one of the best made films of the 90s and is much much more than just an Arnold vehicle. Linda Hamilton is brilliant as Sarah Connor.

The third? fair enough. That was an Arnold vehicle and not very good.

I've never even bothered watching the show as Linda Hamilton will always be Sarah Connor for me.

And I'm sorry but the movies are RIDICULOUS. I mean they might have been great when they came out but they have aged badly, they are ridiculous.

And the second one is TOTALLY an arnold vehicle. And the same rehashed lame one liners from the first.

And it's hardly in the same realms of airbrushed Hollywood glossiness when you compare it to movies from the same time like Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Temple of Doom... Terminator is kind of downbeat/subdued when compared to that.
