(one even credited a rodeo scene as being filmed here but i have my doubts, and think that was a mis print)
Now a lot of the outdoor scenes were filmed in nevada, but some of the shots are arizona as well.
films shot in arizona sometimes arent credited. because they film so close to the borders sometimes they didnt even know which state they were technically in. (some movies remove road signs to get a more rural feel, and ive heard of city and town limit signs being moved to accommodate)
now do you want to start shit with a film student and movie buff or do you just want to let it alone? |
i'm an ex film student, movie buff, movie employee & a resident of nevada... NOTHING if anything but maybe a 5 minute stint was film in arizona. |

8 mile - Detroit (I'll always have a soft spot for this city)
Valley Girl & Fast Times at Ridgemont high - San Fernando Valley, Hollywood, Sherman Oaks Galleria..These places are so ordinary suburbia (minus-Hollywood, of course) yet I've been obsessed with these places for years.. |

my aunt used to work in it though, & my mom's first marriage had her reception in the top floor hall. | do you know what casino in reno they used to film "the cooler"? i know the casino wasnt actually in working order at the time of filming (demolishing? remodel? not sure) but it was a great looking one.
i miss the old casinos. i think if anything ever happened to circus circus i'd shoot steve wynn on principle alone.

they shut it down for filming, but it was The Golden Phoenix which used to be the Flamingo Hilton, & is now i think becoming condos.
i have not seen the film but it's all hollywood if it really did look amazing. because the golden phoenix was rly trashy, infact we call it the golden HO-nix. b/c thats where you go to take yr hooker from 4th street.
side note: i met alec baldwin because of this film (he was shopping in my store) complete ASSFACE.
i was just in the circus circus this past week. i don't think they'll ever really get rid of that but boy could it use some paint. |
