| | | i know darling, it was the film i watched over and over every night with killer jet lag when i got back from sf. i put the subtitles on and i watched it and watched it. i didn't sleep more than a nap in the afternoon and dozing at dawn for about 4 days. it was like being in a dream of the same story constantly, and you were there with me because you're in it. the sussex arts club is beautiful. laura hold her 40's night there. it's called the mess around.
it was corbyn's birthday this weekend, so i was in hastings. i wandered around rock a nore. the woman with the owls was there. the boats were out. i hid on top of a rock and i missed you. |

| | | i liked 'singles' in seattle just because it was "i've been there.. yep.. there too..." 'say anything' was fun for the same reason.
for some reason though, anything set in san francisco gets my seal of approval.
although i will watch the old soft porn movie 'summer lovers' for the scenery of greece over and over. and try to wish myself there. |

town squares, and i think a couple of rivers were shot in virginia. |

most of the scenary in misfits is in arizona, not nevada. it was cheaper to film here than over the border a few miles down. |
this is not true, it was filmed in nevada (dayton, black rock & reno) completely aside from like a few scenes in LA. please don't pass off your info as fact. |

It was on wilshire and crenshaw. The home belonged to one of the Gettys. That house has since been torn down and replaced by a parking garage. Nice huh?

i haven't watched the movie in a while. but i believe it's the Mapes.
& it's no longer there, they blew it up a few years back which is ashame because it was AMAZING to look at, but it was condemed like in the late 80s.
my aunt used to work in it though, & my mom's first marriage had her reception in the top floor hall. |

oh fuck off.
Eve Arnold is a photographer and was a close friend of marilyn. she was trusted as one of her personal photographers. In a book Eve wrote, she date and location stamped a photo of both Gable and Monroe IN arizona. I've also watch countless pbs documentaries on arizona entertainment history, and they credit some scenes being filmed on the outskirts of the arizona desert. (one even credited a rodeo scene as being filmed here but i have my doubts, and think that was a mis print)
Now a lot of the outdoor scenes were filmed in nevada, but some of the shots are arizona as well.
films shot in arizona sometimes arent credited. because they film so close to the borders sometimes they didnt even know which state they were technically in. (some movies remove road signs to get a more rural feel, and ive heard of city and town limit signs being moved to accommodate)
now do you want to start shit with a film student and movie buff or do you just want to let it alone? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
