| | | Reason: Future role reprisal The reason there is a push on 200 Cigs is that a few studios or mulling over hiring playrights for Courtney Love to reprise the exact role she was in during that movie!
Yes rumor has it that it will be based on a 90's sleeper "concept" album put out by Seattle band Candlebox. In fact much of the album cover looks similar to Courtneys Live Thruogh This and some of the messages (drowning, dying beautiful) that were on the Candlebox album were also used later in Celebrity Skin.
It is said that Courtney will play a wise person, a friend of a very rich household that comes to visit for extended stays. She will give morales to the people in the movie. Alot of it will take place in a house outside of New York with a servant and a limo driver. It will be a cautionary tale though. It is said that the soundtrack may or may not use her but will use music from that album and also stuff of the same vintage on Soundtrack. Im sure Courtney will donate a song to it.
Anyway expect to see this movie materilize, not right away but before 2011 probably. It is supposed to be loosely based on a true story.
Also Courtney will probably sign a three movie deal and this will be one of them. The studios arent worried much about insurance anymore cause they know COurtney will follow through on movies.
Anyway they thought reprising her role from 200 Cigs will be good. Her hair and wardrobe will be the same. It should be good if the studios give her a green light on a three movie deal. |

| | | dreadful movie. Christina Riccie is the only good thing in it.
When you think about it Courtney Love's big movie career comes down to a fluke and a buckload of garbage movies.
I think Courtney Love's movie career may be WORSE than Madonna's. I mean at least Madonna has Evita wich is a top notch movie AND won a golden globe.
Courtney can't compare to that.
Looking back I really don't know why that Ingrid Sichy pig and the Vogue crowd were so in love with her. |

| | | Love and Movies Courtneys has had a movie career Delores. Also Courtney never acheived Madonna or Cher status. I dont think that was what she was after. She did seem to want a film career though and getting signed to a multipicture deal will fufill her dreams.
Not all her movies were bad Larry Flint, kind of typecast but contervisail movie at the time, Beat I thought was a good movie even though I guess she didnt like crew she had in Mexico, Julie Johnson was good with a good message, Man On The Moon could have been better, Jim Carreys fault for ahmming it up too much and not conveying the message good enough about publcity stunts, Trapped awful, 200 Cigs good, ensemble cast, not Oscar stuff but always comes on around the Holidays.
200 Cigs will have nothing to do with Courtneys reprisal of role though, none of the characters will be in the new film if green lighted, besides maybe cameos or a small part probably Christina Ricci I would think since she has done alot of cautionary tales.
Im the new movie only Courtneys character will be ressurected and a whole new cast of characters. Its supposed to give the cuationary side of what glamour and riches mean. Its also loosely based on a true story and also loosely based on that album, they are mixing the two. Spoiler: There will probably be another drowning, altho it wont be Courtney. Courtney will play a good guy, a wise person. |

| | | AMAZING!
I was thinking about this film literally half an hour ago thinking "Man, I wanna watch that before work tomorrow. Too bad I don't have time to walk to the video store and back." Problem solved. Thanks. |

| | | Thats great Princess Trae!!
I always wait for around the holidays and then watch it if I happen to catch it. Its a cute enemble movie.
The next movie with her in the same character will not be considered a sequel though, more like a spin off a term they use in television. |

I keep having to not read otherwise-worthwhile threads because of who the last poster was, as I'll just end up throwing the monitor out of the window with frustration. There are three main culprits here, and shockingly Ramon is not one of them, as he at least provides some light comic relief.

| | 200 Cigarettes isn't perfect, but it's pretty good. The soundtrack is swell and so is Dave Chapel, CL did fine ....I remember a review of the film from The Newyorker and it was actually favorable and discussed how the film was better than Life Is Beautiful (a film i hate and think sucks), which made me happy. |

| | | If you rate 200 Cigarettes and not Sherrybaby, and think Life Is Beautiful "sucks", you don't deserve an opinion on film.

You seem to analyze media at a face value and i can't believe you like Sherrybaby, which was one of the funniest movies i've ever seen in theaters. Everyone was laughing so hard and it felt like i was in an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
200 Cigarettes is a better movie than Sherrybaby and Life is Beautiful, this is obvious.
Here are some examples of critiques for you:
I don't even like David Denby but i agree with him in these reviews. 200 Cigarettes: The Film File: The New Yorker Life Is Beautiful: The Film File: The New Yorker |
