Placing The Shawshank Redemption at 4 is horrific. I've always thought it was the most nauseating sort of "strength of the human spirit" bullshit.

| | | Hush there - I do like Stephen King very much. However, it's probably one of my least-favourite adaptions. At least the cheesy bad horror films don't make you cringe at Oscar-pleading performances.

And the one they shot in New Zealand with loads of actors from Shortland Street.

| | | Ew, I stopped reading too and than did a search for my favourite movies. Most of which weren't there... I admit, I've probably got crap taste but I still consider it far superior to this shit. The thing with voters' lists is that people don't have a very good memory or a big interest in film history and therefore all the shittier new ones make the selection.

| | | I think Knocked Up should have been there over Superbad if anything. I am OBSESSED with it. It's such a clever comedy but it also has a point about superficiality and it's quite sweet. |

They'd obviously come up with which covers they were going to do before the listings were made, since quite a few of them were way down in the 400s. Men In Black was one of them, anyway. Quote: |

| That's why The Shining should be higher: it's a great movie, but Stephen King didn't like it. Win win, surely?

Can we do our own top ten now? | That's the way the other thread I made on Kerrang! has gone, so yeah, why not? Quote: |

I know it's the famous one, but Stuck Together, Kingpin and Me Myself & Irene are far better as films.
In another thread, someone compared Legally Blonde to Star Wars (as a jokey way of illustrating a point: someone was saying that you can't hate Star Wars until you've seen Empire Strikes Back; he then said that he could hate Legally Blonde without seeing Legally Blonde 2), and I realised that I actually seriously enjoyed Legally Blonde more than Star Wars.
