| | | anyone remember the woman who played madonna in the rodman tv movie? There was a TV movie a bunch of years ago, based on Dennis Rodman's book. With some no-name playing Madonna.
It was long before I paid much attention to Madonna, so I couldn't really critique. I do remember the actress laying on a fakish Midwest(?) accent a little thick.
I remember another scene, where even I thought they could have done a better job picking out Madonna's bedroom furniture. And I know fuck all. They gave her a wicker headboard, and cheapish looking white comforter.
I'd like to see somebody else play Madonna in a straight up way. Not like a Mad TV sketch or whatever.
I'd like a movie where Cate Blanchett plays her. And then we can see Cate playing Madonna playing that twat in Shanhai Surprise. That would be a mind-blowing treat.
Although that won't happen, so a Madonna TV movie would be good. Would they need her permission? Are TV movies even made anymore? |

| | | i just remember that martha stewart tv movie that portrayed her as a complete cunt.
she wouldn't have given permission for that. so somebody needs to make something similar about madonna.
maybe the brother will sell the rights to his book. that would be great with some real campy bitch as madonna. especially if the same actress who plays 40-50 year old madonna, plays a precocioucly slutty 13 year old madonna. |

It needs to happen. Soon. Before she loses even more relevance.
Starring some blonde thing from some soap. Or somesuch. And Sean Penn as Warren Beatty.

| | | Terumi Matthews is the name of that trollop. And what kind of a name is that anyway?? no wonder she never went anywhere.
Madonna Innocence Lost was one of my first exposures to Madonna. I remember thinking she was cool and that I would be her when I grew up.
Incidentally I saw the movie a few days ago and it was SO DREADFUL. Yes, the movie is accurate in its portrayal but for some reason everything is so fucking lame. I don't know if it's because it's a tv movie or what, I don't know but I remember the ending where "Terumi" is singing Like A Virgin at the MTV Video Music Awards and it was so fucking CRINGEWORTHY.
And it's weird because Madonna at the vma's 1984 is as cool as ANYONE can get. I really don't think that there is anything or anyone, with the execption of Marilyn Monroe, that can be cooler or more fierce than Madonna at the VMA'S '84.
But in the movie it came across as the most pathetic thing in the world. I think that Madonna does things that only Madonna can do. Like for instance Vogue, who could pull that song off?? who can make fags with a lisp cool except Madonna??? Rihanna sang Vogue at the fasion rocks thing and it was dreadful, and when she rapped it was cringeworthy. Maybe because she was black, I mean I don't think she or most black girls looked up to Greta garbo and Monroe, Dietrich and DiMaggio, so the song just loses all meaning.
Anyway, the movie is dreadful. The only good thing about it is Wendi Malick as the dykon Camille Barbone, I just love Wendi and her ultra sexual voice. |

They can be controversial, and high-profile, but I don't know about "cool".

Didn't Paula Abdul do some pervy writhing at some stage. Ooh controversing. Let's get Madonna to pash someone onstage, or masturbate with a crucifix or something.
