Britney Spears 'Sets The Record Straight' In Documentary!
Britney Spears 'Sets The Record Straight' In Documentary Airing November 30 On MTV.
In the special, Britney reflects on hardships of the past few years: 'What the hell was I thinking?'
ssibly more than anyone on Earth, Britney Spears' life is constantly documented by the media, which voraciously reports on the singer's every step and misstep. But what's it like to be in her shoes?
With her new album, Circus, set for release in just a few weeks, the singer is ready to show the world her side of the story.
Britney has joined forces with MTV for a 90-minute documentary about her return to the pop-music spotlight. Tentatively titled "For the Record," the special is set to air on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV, two days before Circus is released on December 2 (the singer's 27th birthday).
"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know," Spears told MTV News in a statement about the special. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."
The documentary combines personal stories with behind-the-scenes footage of her comeback. Cameras follow her to the recording studio, to rehearsals, to press tours, to the video shoot for her latest single, "Womanizer," and even to her hometown in Louisiana. Backstage footage from her recent triumphant appearance at the Video Music Awards is also featured.
Through it all, we hear Britney talking about the hardships that led up to this comeback. "I've been through a lot, and there's a lot people don't know," she says in the film. "Sometimes it can get lonely 'cause you don't open the gate. I'm stuck in this place, and I just cope every day."
Britney also owns up to the mistakes the world has watched her make, and offers some telling insight into how she feels about it all now. "I sit there and I look back," she says, before asking rhetorically: "I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?"
"For the Record" airs Sunday, November 30 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
in order to do this shes probably had more coaching than Palin
You know, I do kinda agree with you. But then again remember 'Chaotic'? I'm hoping it's gonna be a mixture of everything. I mean, it's obvious Britney isn't the brightest tool in the box when it comes to interviews, but I reckon some of it will at least be from a genuine place? I dunno. EXCITED nonetheless! haha.

Chaotic is AMAZING
especially that scene that I believe was NOT actually aired on tv but can be found on youtube where she's obviously high on something (my guess was marijuana or ecstasy, I know they're really different but she reminded me of myself on some part of either of those drug's high-cycle) and is like "I'm ugly" and then is burping and shit and she's like saying she really wanted to see Spun and Kevin says he saw it on the bus and she's like "You're lyin'" does anyone know what I'm talking about? it's fucking AMAZING
Interviewer: So Britney, over the last couple of years you've done some crazy things like hitting cars and taking off, running over people's feet, running red lights, driving with your baby sitting on your lap and dropping your baby on his head. In retrospect, what do you think about those actions now?
Britney: Omigod! I still totally can't believe that I shaved my head!
She tripped, could've happened to anybody, and ALMOST dropped it. I don't give a shit if she was wearing clunky wedge sandals.
I'm looking forward to it but I doubt she's going to explain as much as I'd like her to. It'd be neat though if she explained you know about her mental illness, drug problems and struggles as a single mom in depth because that could be really informative and/or helpful for anyone out there who is struggling with the same things.
But she won't because that would be taking responsibility for her actions on some level. She will continue to be a spoiled and deluded child performer for the rest of her life. She can't help it really, she's had a weird life where people cater to her and as a result she's fucked in the head. She isn't educated. Playing this game is the only thing she knows. She's white trash that happens to have millions. But she's still white trash. The only reason she's doing this in the first place is because her image consultants are telling her she'll never have a huge career again if she doesn't at least acknowledge her craziness (It's the step you take in Hollywood: If you're an American star that happens to have that boy/girl next door image and you fuck up, you do a documentary or People magazine cover saying you're sorry and all is forgiven). But with depth? No way. I'll hold my breath and wait for Mary-Kate Olsen to write a tell-all regarding her struggle with anorexia first.
