i think what makes this vampire story different is that it's less sci-fi and more drama. it's not about the paranormal. the vampires don't live in coffins, well not all. they are actual members of society and out in the open. no one is running around with crosses and garlic.

there is a little bit of the paranormal with sookie, anna paquin's character but you'll have to watch it to find out what that is.

a lot has happened in the first episode already. if the rest of the season is anything like it, it's going to be a good show.
