| | I kinda liked the first episode...But then again, I've read all nine books (or ten now?) and as Serena as my favourite character, and so far she's the only character I think is portrayed pretty accurately, I am going to continue watching the series.
for those who've read the books
nate- he is NOT that attractive and he's too like womanly right now. he does not seem enough of a stoner wasp type.
chuck- kinda weird looking. But not that bad.
jenny- wasn't she supposed to be a brunette with kinda curly/frizzy hair who had HUGe tits and was not so model looking?
blair - so perfect!
dan - the hottest guy of the three. and he seems really cool. I would totally wanna date dan if I were in the show...but in the books, I find his character really irksome and picture him dressing and looking totally different. and where on earth is vanessa!?!
serena's brother- k, why is he like 13? he's supposed to be older than her.
serena -  I think she has a very interesting mysterious quality about her. somewhat like evan rachel wood...  |

anyone else watch this show? i'm about 9 eps into series one. i am loving it. boy is dan (penn bagley) hot..as is nate (chace crawford). i love the buffy/spike thing that blair and chuck have going.
man are their parents equally fucked up, if not more. some of the "kids" are the parents. i love rufus out of all of the parents and him and lily have chemistry.

| | | i completely love this show. like borderline obsessed. i cried during the last episode of the season when serena and dan were dancing together. i love chuck bass and nate archibald. i love how they're opposites but bestfriends. (and i love that ed westwick and chace crawford are roommates irl.) and i really love blair waldorf. i especially appreciate her dedication to academics and absolutely adore her style.
as for aparoldy's post about the characters' inconsistencies, i was mildly irritated for a minute but then i remembered that these are teenagers. if teenagers are anything, they're fickle. at the beginning of the series jenny is 14 years old and blair is 16. they're typical teenagers as far as emotions go.
