It looks mint! "The Phantom Killer..." and the fact its based loosely on a true story makes it even more appealing!! is there any reviews for it?

Friday the 13th looks like it could be a good project . I actually had a friend involved with the remake. Can't wait to watch this one over a big bag of popcorn..or some scrumptious food I sneak in the theater

There's a couple reviews floating around, but being the reviewer probably wasn't even born when this came out and they've had a longer history of films to fall back on, so it most likely didn't fair too well in their eyes.
It's a good Friday night, popcorn, drive-in type flick for sure. I couldn't find the trombone bayonet scene anywhere sadly.
I remember the end of it being the most embellished part. Without giving anything away it had the sheriffs making actual visual contact and pursuit with the guy, although that never happened. In reality, they just had one hard suspect with a g/f who had a record of her own but they could never nail him even though she spoke of him doing it and had a few details of some scenes. Her stories always changed. He got life however for stealing a car and being a repeat offender. Conviction overturned in the 70's. He was interviewed later in a retirement home and got pissed about it when it was brought up.
Then of course the other previously mentioned guy in the retirement home a few years back who said he was the one who did it. (He was placed in the area around that time) It's still an open case today even though the perp is most likely dead by now or old enough to certainly not be a threat anymore or maybe it was one of those two guys, who knows.
No. 1: I hate remakes. And the continual sequels of this franchise just went beyond stupid after the 3rd or 4th. (Can't even remember now)
No. 2: Since a previously made post sometime ago, any and every time I hear something Friday The 13th related, I always think of the Angry Nintendo Nerd video where he's reviewing the NES game.
thisbytes... The Phantom Killer is dead intriguing... What about a remake of that movie?

This is comedy gold - why can't he get a t.v. show in the UK on channel 5?

The whole thing about Friday the 13th is that Jason was never meant to be a killer - he was supposed to have been a deformed little boy who drowned and his mother was seeking revenge on his death. The writer for the first movie despises the rest of the series because Jason was supposed to be sympathized for, not turned into a scary killer.
I'm curious if this movie went into production before the new Halloween was made because there was a lot of backlash from that film even though it did good at the box office. Is Halloween 2007 not the most hated horror movie remake of all time?
The problem with both Jason and Michael is that they've turned into horrible characters as the series goes.
It's not scary when an 8 foot 290 pound serial killer is attacking a 5'1 112 pound girl. You know she's going to lose, there's no thrill. He could walk while everyone is running and screaming around and you already know that he's going to kill them.
With the first Halloween - Michael did walk but he had a fast pace creepy walk to him. It was the true meaning of the 'I don't have to run cause I know I'm gonna get you!' walk. And he was also still looked at as a human, not some supernatural muscle machine who comes back to life after being set on fire.
Same thing with Friday the 13th II with Jason with the sack over his head. And he did run! And he was scary as fuck! The fact that a small mentally retarded and deformed man with a sack over his head is chasing you with a knife freaks the living SHIT out of me!!!

The Nick Castle strut. The whole reason he got the part; John Carpenter liked how he walked.
That's one of the things that pisses me off in horror movies... the killer's walk. It's not realistic that the victim legs it and the killer walks but still gets them. Freddy ran... there was no escaping that guy not even when asleep!

the marathon consists of 1-3.
yay! i think after i've caught up with all the stuff i missed doing this weekend i'll kick back and watch Friday 13th PArt II.
I read an article in a magazine a while back discussing the 70's-80's and 90's slasher movie and its hidden morals and ethics. For example, the whole no sex before marriage thing, the killer being a manifestation of AIDS etc... what ya think are the hidden messages in scary films??
