| 20 years from now you'll hear some teenager saying that the kid's shows just aren't as good as they were 20 years ago. I think kid's show in general are painful to adults, except the ones from our childhood seem better because we remember liking them.
Anyway, only old people from the US know these. Well, some of them are still around, but my generation was the original audience.
The Children’s Television Workshop/PBS (or ‘channel 13’, as I would have called it then) stuff:
Sesame Street
Electric Company
Zoom
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood
Magic Garden
For some reason non-PBS stuff is fuzzier. Probably because at least some of the above were actually clever. The old Warner Brother’s Looney Tunes stuff is still good, but I know it wasn’t made in the 70s, (and I could tell then that it wasn’t made for kids) but I believe these were:
Wacky Races (some or all of the characters were from other cartoons, but I can’t remember much more than that)
Electra-Woman & Dyna Girl
Schoolhouse Rock (although that was on between the shows)
