| | | Confessions I love ABBA's music
But...I don't want to see this movie...I do have a feeling it will get about 60 Oscars though.

| | | i cannot figure out why, like, canNOT get my head around it, but i really want to see this.
i do not get into musicals. i'm not a (huge) abba fan. or a (huge) meryl fan. i don't find the premise particularly intriguing. i mean, there's just no excuse for the fact that whenever an ad for it comes on, i think "man, i really want to see that." WHY? why must i be punished? |

And the singing sounds horrible. I caught a little bit of the VH1 special and Piece Bronsan should NOT sing.
Still when I see the commercial of Meryl Streep climbing up that ladder singing 'Mamma Mia'...I'm intrigued. |

Although this atrocity does mean that we'll probably not have to share our cinema experience with annoying girls for a while...

| | I went to see this with two friends and my film studies lecturer, and all four of us really enjoyed it. It's just fun, not to be taken too seriously. Pierce's singing is pretty awful, but I thought that was kinda... part of the fun? I'm a big Meryl fan anyway, but she was so good in this. Especially The Winner Takes It All: YouTube - Mamma Mia! The Movie - The Winner Takes It All (video)
Seriously, if you're thinking about it just give it a shot. Total feel good Summer movie. |

| | | Whelp, anything with Meryl Streep is bound to be a hit. She has like 50 million fans alone. I'm sure it will be a hit at the Box Office. Some even say Oscars. But I still have no desire to see it. |

| | Is there NOTHING Meryl Streep can't turn her hand to? Acting, accents, now singing! I'm THIS close to creating a zoanthropy-type thread extolling the virtues of La Streep
EDIT: Without the creepy MILF allusions, of course....

| | | what the fuck is this movie about?
i didn't realise until this thread that it had anything to do with abba or that musical about abba. i thought the musical and the film were completely separate from each other. i guess not.
i saw the poster and it looks ridiculous. |
