| | | We're just going to wait until the week after next, when we're on vacation and can go any time of day. I bookmarked the fanandgo page for the IMAX theater in Lincoln Center

| | | for those who saw it already: what kind of crowd did you get?
my crowd was clapping throughout the movie, but was lame as shit when it came to laughing. they laughed at inane stuff. meanwhile, i was the only one who lolzed (loud, too) during joker's pencil trick. come on, now. that shit was hilarious.

But I'm not willing to go to a 6 am show or line up overnight this weekend, and I've quite a lot to do over the week if I want to still have a job when I come back. It just seems to make sense.

Opening weekend seemed like too much trouble with crowds (they have actually added 6am shows in some places), next week we both have to work harder than normal and we put in long hours anyway, and after that, vacation.

| | | It opened here at midnight yesterday. Lots of people wrapped around theatre. I saw them when I went to the 7-11. I want to see it. Not that bad though, I guess.

| | | I really enjoyed that film. Loved it actually. I'm not too picky about what makes a film enjoyable for me, however, so I don't know what other people on here might think of it when they see it. Most of the people I talked to who've seen it already (all but one, that goddamn friend of mine who I mentioned earlier in this thread who APPARENTLY saw all these little plot twists and surprises coming way before they happened) LOVED it.
And that pencil trick WAS hilarious. My audience didn't laugh too hard at that bit but they were laughing at other naughty Joker bits.
(My favourite one being, and I'm not going to spoil this for anyone who hasn't seen it yet so I'll just say, the delayed reaction with the building. Great bit.) |

| | | I tried to buy preview tickets but apparently you need to show up on the day - you can't pre-book? So I'm pissed off and anxious that by the time I get there on Friday evening after work it will all be sold out.
I can't wait for this film. I WANT GUARANTEES. |

He died, it was tragic, but he wasn't god. I think all the other performances are being overlooked because of this. I thought Christian Bale did such a brilliant job in this film, he was such a force to be reckoned with but so vulnerable at the same time. And his accent is immaculate. I thought the poor guy must have had such a sore throat from that raspy deep voice. Anyway. I did love Ledgers performance too, he was so lively and obviously really took the role to heart. Mmyes.
I was bleeding exhausted by the end though, it's SO LONG and you have to concentrate the whole time or you lose the plot. Oh and I hated both Katie Holmes and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes. Totally could have got someone much better. They were so blah. Would have been nice to see some sort of decent female role in these movies.
I think I enjoyed Batman Begins more, because it was a lot funnier! I really loved the dialogue in the first one, and Michael Caine really delivered his lines so brilliantly and made it really funny. I think some of those clever, witty lines were missing a bit from The Dark
Knight.
And another thing, the 'new and improved' batcave is so shit! Wtf were the set designers on holiday or what?! Enormous empty warehouse with bright light. Genius guys, really clever.
