As much as I love Nine, and I truly do and have watched anything else i can find him to be in, Tennant is so good. And I love LOVE Donna. Best companion yet, imo.
I have heard that this is Tennant's last season and someone new will be in for season 5 which really scares me because it takes me a while to warm up to new people and Ten and Donna just are a pair. I really love them together. I don't want to part with either of them just yet.
It's so scary. I'm not really sure how they could write in Nine coming back but stranger things have happened (not a fan of the daughter thing).
I have only seen up to the two libraries episodes. I am not caught up!

OMG OMG OMG OMG I just saw it. When The Doctor was running towards Rose fucking tears were running down my eyes. I'm such a sap.
I had to look at spoilers...and im sure you all knew he wasnt going to reall regenerate, right? He is onboard for more episodes.
I've also really grown to love Donna. Loads more than Martha, for sure. I will be sad to see her go...as she surely will after tomorrow's episode. AH CANT WAITTTTT.

New seasons are finally fucking starting in New Zealand. YAYS. I'm going to watch Torchwood this season, even though I hated it before. It's my duty.

bort, i have to tell you, Season 2 of Torchwood is INFINITELY better than season 1. i barely even made it through season 1, watching them only out of a feeling of obligation. but once i got to season 2, it was like, whoa!! Interesting stories! People coming through the rift and not ONLY having sex! Other things happened, besides sex!
Plus I love Ianto.
I am going to buy a hedgehog and name it Ianto.
I have not watched the Finale of Who yet. I don't know what happens in it except for what I just read in Pablita's post. And BTW I thought sure I read this was Tennant's last season? I mean...From pablita's post I'm assuming he's on for another but I thought DWM said it was his last?
And I am not sure through what manner Donna leaves because I haven't watched it yet but let the record show that she is my favorite companion thus far, of all time. Not just the new seasons, but ever. I love Donna so I am a bit afraid to watch now.
This season went by entirely too fast and with nothing to hold me over til Christmas but the SJA it will be a sad 5 months.

Just tell me Captain Jack is less of a cunt, and a presence, in series two. Hurry up and become a head in a jar already, I can just about stand him there.

oh and, just watched the finale
the drama was unbelievable
most dramatic episode yet
but the whole thing still has me reaching. it didn't quite do it and russell's logic grows ever more flimsy

It was really really RTD wasnt it? I am glad Moffat is taking over the series.
We will have the same doctor at least through the 2009 specials.
How tragic is his existence, though? I mean, that is what gets me about RTDs shows. Capt. Jack is a tragic charater as well...never able to die. But especially when the Doctor gave the other doctor to Rose. Wow. I mean the human doctor could say and do all the things the timelord could not. Yet the timelord is the one who lost, once again, everything he loves.
This is why I can't watch other scifi. I am just compelled by the tragedy of this all.

can we also talk about how rose's return was so unsatisfying? i mean it was supposed to be a big deal. but the only time i felt the magnitude of it was when they were running towards each other.

OMG the kiss with human doctor and rose was cringeworthy, it was playing into the fans who wanted them to hook up...by giving a backdoor way of doing this. plus he's not the doctor really..well he is and isn't.
donna. bastard damn you russell t davies.
i was depressed for weeks after the end of series 2 when rose was stcuk in the parallel universe...now theyv'e repeated that and done what they did to donna.
i also dont' get why rose really needed to stay in that universe when mickey got to stay on our earth.
thank fuck TMNT movie is on now.
uigh the lonliness and sadness of the doctor :-( yeah he had this family on earth but he's alone again lost his latest companion who must never remember him.
and the rose thing, i'm glad they brought her back to give her another go at seeing the doctor again but the consolation prize???

Same. I predicted he would, or at least suggested he was the best option, and all my mates were "nah!". They was wrong. And they're supposed to know more about Doctor Who than I do.

The kiss with the human doctor killed me because the Timelord doctor was right there and HE couldn't do the same. Do you remember in season 2 when Sarah Jane asked the doctor why he had just left her and then Rose asked what would happen to them...then the Doctor told her how he could never spend the rest of his life with her like she could with him? That summed up his life for me. How amazingly depressing is that? And now here comes the human doctor...and I was thinking that it's such a silly compromise because Rose loved everything the doctor did for people and loved traveling with him, seeing him in his element. I don't know. But I did love how the human doctor has the same memories and feelings.
Now that you mention it, it's true! Mickey gets to hop around all the time.
I really loved Donna. She felt like a true companion not some silly girl who looked adoringly at the doctor. She really came into her own throughout the season--which was remarkably highlighted by when she woke up and the doctor was still at her house and she was chatting away on the phone. Back to her old life.
This was a pretty good season finale...But I still loved the other two, probably because I felt they were stronger seasons. Plus that three part adventure with the Master was amazing.

So, uhhh… am I the only person who found the finale to be a massive fucking let-down? I mean, it was a great set-up, especially the stuff about the stars going out, and could've been great, but then to end it with a load of technobabble, way too much reference to the spin-offs, and just about everything else that could alienate a casual viewer, pissed me off immensely.
Still, I suppose having given us Midnight a couple of weeks before they probably figured they don't owe the old-fashioned sci-fi nerds shit anymore and could get on with pleasing the "soap-opera with some kind of time machine or something, who cares as long as there's plenty of smooches!?" audience the show's been so desperate to court.
Grump, groan.
