1. Netflix doesn't have it, so thats not an option.
2. I can't pay $70 for a DVD collection. $30 is as high as I'll go.
damnit. I want to see it so much. Is it good? it has such a huge cult following and inspired X-Files to be made (which is one of my fav shows ever) so I really wanna see this.
I just watched the pilot. AMAZING. I can't believe this is a TV show. It is so moving and the acting & writing is SUPERB. But I wouldn't expect any less from Lynch. I'm totally hooked now. Thanks desdemona

Indeed. It's really restored my faith in TV. If you like Twin Peaks, you might also be interested in the show The Prisoner. It was aired in the 1960's but it is very ahead of it's time and has been described as a forerunner to shows like Twin Peaks and Lost. Dunno about getting it online tho.
I own the box. I actually bought the vhs and then the dvds because I am a Peaks dork. I am sure you could buy the vhs version pretty cheaply?
I think it was only a tv show for as long as it was because people didn't realize until it was too late just how weird it was. Subtle is not an American t.v. trait. The things I laughed at likely weren't funny to many, but for those of us who "got it" - it was a genious time for television. It was one of the very few ( I think t peaks and Lost) times my Mother and I watched the same show. And both times - at some point - my Mother said something like "Well that got weird." And I laugh to myself.

Just watched the 2nd episode. *SPOILER* totally freaked me out when Laura Palmer's mom hallucinates and sees that guy on the floor beside her. Freaky shit.
Not alot happened in the 2nd episode, but I'm sure its just setting up for the next few. I love all these twists & turns

Wow you also noticed this link. I love The Prisoner too.
THAT WOULD BE TELLING!!
I have bought the Twin peaks dvds 3 times now. First one was taken by ex boyfriend, 2nd time I kept it, 3rd time I got the gold box cause I wanted the extras.

There's so much great stuff in the pilot. That shot of Audrey walking towards the car in a tight sweater and the shot of her shoes as she gets in.
Audrey at her locker smoking, the mischievous smile she gives to Donna.
My favorite is when the teacher is taking attendance and Audrey is sitting there with her head in her hands looking miles away.
And who else but Audrey could puncture that coffee cup and not come across as a total asshole? She's adorable.
Audrey up against the wall talking to the Norwegians about Laura's murder. Audrey's glee when the Norwegians are leaving.
And another good one is when Big Ed and Norma meet at the Roadhouse and music plays and I just like the way David Lynch handles melodrama. Audrey isn't there or anything, but it's still a beautiful scene.
