foreign films to american modern remakes

ok aside from infernal affairs being remade into the departed and mostly martha being remade into no reservations what other films have been redone and which ones are being made now and could be redone in the near future?i also know of horror remakes like the grudge, ring, fog.i heard they might do an american version of the edukators and i hope not cos its one of my favorite movies and id hate to see it ruined or a copy cat performance not adding anything to the pot.

secondly which films do you prefer the foreign ones or the american remakes?

They turned L'Appartement into Wicker Park. I didn't go see it.

A Tale of Two Sisters (2008)
they remade a tale of two sisters. god.

The Echo (2008)
also a remake with jesse bradford!!! yey

i'm forgetting alot. oh, they remade la femme nikita with a totally nondescript bridget fonda for the role. the birdcage was a remake. diabolique with sharon stone was a remake. that one i actually kind of liked. the birdcage was fabulous too. swept away with madonna was a remake. ghastly! also, city of angels with meg ryan was from wings of desire.

i saw this list
List of English-language films based on foreign-language films - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and yeah, the original always feels better.

Well the example that comes to mind for me is:

Le Femme Nikita and the American version with Brigette Fonda. They should never have made the American version.

Also Abre Sus Ojos which was remade as Vanilla Sky?? I liked the Foreign version much better.

I'm almost always more partial to the foreign version.
