| | | Homer Simpson Created Grunge Music I just wanted to share this because I know KR will appreciate Tonight's episode of the Simpsons has Homer create the grunge genre. It reminds me of "Homerpalooza", with Sonic Youth and Smashing Pumpkins
Oh how I love this show! MARGE AND HOMER RECOUNT HOW HOMER SINGLEHANDEDLY STARTED THE GRUNGE MOVEMENT DURING THE 90’S ON AN ALL-NEW “THE SIMPSONS” SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, ON FOX
Weird Al Yankovic and Kurt Loder Make Guest-Voice Appearances
When Bart and Lisa discover Marge’s diploma from Springfield University, Marge reveals that she had attended the university back when she and Homer had first started dating. In a flash back, Homer gives up his dreams of becoming a musician and takes a job at his father’s laser tag warehouse to support Marge attending Springfield University. However, when Marge finds herself attracted to an offbeat professor named Professor August, Homer decides he has had enough of Marge’s wandering eye. Homer instead focuses his emotions on his music, inventing a new sound called “grunge.” As Marge continues to date the pretentious professor, Homer becomes the hottest grunge artist around, as evidenced by Weird Al’s parody of his music. But when Marge sees a special news report on MTV with Kurt Loder announcing that Homer’s band, Sadgasm, has broken up and that Homer is holed-up in a mansion hopelessly addicted to drugs, Marge must choose between her new life and her old love in the “That 90’s Show” episode of THE SIMPSONS Sunday, Jan. 27 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. |

| | | that sounds stupid. really fucking stupid. the simpsons sucks now.
and i hate to get all simpsons-tard but when homer and marge first started dating marge still had one year of high school left and then after that she got pregant with bart. i don't know how she could have attended university but at least it's more realistic than homer going to university. |

Sadgasm did make me laugh. But the whole thing made me kind of miss the 90s. Kind of.

So he would have been in his late 20s when bart was born.
Matt Groening has always explained this bizarre discrepancy by saying "it's a cartoon show."
The Simpsons had their world debut a month before I was born. I don't even want to know how many hours of my life have been spent watching this show. |

i'm talking about within the simpsons universe. i just don't like it when new episodes tread all over what the classic ones established.
also, homer used to be 36, then they put him up to 38 because the writers felt that he should be older than them. |
