i don't get it. at all. it's sitting right there on my DVD shelfer-thinger. no editing, no commercials. and yet i watch it on the damn tv. WHY???

I don't watch it because the version on tv is usually edited, and I really can't stand Joe Pesci saying "you're really busting my chops" over and over. Or Samantha Jones getting really excited over the prospect of going down memory lane with a guy.

But I'll watch the Simpsons whether I own it or not.

if it's one of my favourites then yeah, I tend to...it's weird. It's almost as though I owe it to the film to give it my support by watching it on tv..hmmm

Yes, depending on whether I've seen it in a while or not. I guess extra incentive right now is because my DVD player's broken.
I watched Rain Man on TV the other day.

If it's the best thing on TV, I may consider it. TV shows more than movies, generally. I'll watch Doctor Who on TV out of sheer loyalty, but I don't know that I'd persevere with all of Boogie Nights.
