Serenity/Firefly

Serenity was my favorite film this year.

Ireally like Summer Glau (River Tam) and thoght the combination
of Western, SF, and politics was interesting.

I know this has been out a while, but we don't have a thread here, I thought
I'd start one.

I've never seen any Firefly, but a friend dragged me to see Serenity and I loved it. I also found this which made me giggle:

There was talk that it was going to be picked up next year by the CW, but last I've heard Joss wasn't up for it. Too bad.

I was informed by my now ex in no uncertain terms that I simply had to love Firefly. But I hated it, and he didn't cope well with that. To each their own, guess I'm just not a Joss fan.

Well, for people who did like it, Serenity is showing around the U.S. in June
as a benifit for a Women's Rights Group. More info at Can'tstoptheserenity.com .

There were rumors of a made for tv sequal to be shown on the sci-fi channel,
bu I haven't heard anything yet.

I watched Serenity before watching Firefly...which i regret...i thought the TV series was seriously cool and why the TV execs saw fit to fuck with it so much is beyond me! The film was fricking ace too - was the reason i was compelled to go back and watch the episodes on DVD. I have muchos love for all things Joss Whedon though!
