does anybody watch this show on the food network?

It's a great show and they make amazing cakes, but I also feel like they're all really awesome people. They just LOOK cool.

I went on their site and it's 500 bucks for a cake!

Never saw that show, but I do like "Take Home Chef"...he's so cute & his accent is so awesome. I would take him home with me anyday. First we'd cook in the kitchen, then we'd cook in the bedroom.

Their cakes are awesome! I don't know how great fondant cakes taste, but they sure can make some awesome things out of it.

I love that show! That one where they went on Jay Leno was pretty amazing. It looked harder than actually building a real car/engine!! Doesn't it seem shameful when those cakes get cut into and eaten??

My kid got inspired by that show and learned how to make fondant(the flat stuff that you roll out and put over the cakes) and stuff from their website, I think. After much practice, she now makes cakes/cupcakes for special occasions. Lots of work, that's for sure!

Their recipe for Buttercream Frosting is soo fucking delicious!

The fondant is ok, as long as it's thin enough...if it's too thick, it's too much. One of the ingredients in fondant is glycerine...like the same shit as what's in SOAP! You can't really taste it, but with fondant, less is more.

I saw a recipe once for marshmallow fondant. I think it's probably not as easy to work with as real fondant.

I took a cake decorating class, but it was pretty basic. No fondant! lol

Totally shameful! I wouldn't even know where to start eating one of those cakes, much less if I would even want to. I think I'd just take loads of pictures of it and admire the craftsmanship.

Well, that Jay Leno cake looked awfully shiny and almost too metallic, if ya know what I'm sayin'...(like maybe a little bit of REAL Silver Spraypaint maybe?? when we weren't looking?? heh heh...after all, it WAS the fucking Tonight Show!!).

Those cakes are like works of art though. I do wonder how good their actual baking tastes...does anyone know or have you heard??

it looks like they have tons of good flavors from the site, but the cakes are 500 dollars each!# I mean FFS for 500 dollars I could pay someone to feed me cake naked.

My favorite cake I've seen them do was for a girl who brought her boyfriend's picture in and had them create a cake of his head...being eaten by zomies! I thought that was so cool. Also, did anyone see the episode where geoff did a jeep cake with tons of detail, then the minute the cake hit the table the guy and his friends ripped it apart. Geoff just had to stand there and watch.
