ok, she sucked big time at the VMA'S but to be honest she created a LOT of hype, I'm talking about an Elizabeth Taylor appearence or MJ singing somewhere type of hype.
And it was positive hype!!! people WANTED her to do good and be number one again. What does it mean?? I think Britney is a pop icon a la Madonna in her own right. Hate to say it but it seems like it. |

If she wants to sell records or concert tickets, this kind of publicity won't help.

| Ive not actually watched her VMA performance yet, but from what I've read here it seems pretty bad.
I think if people wanted her to do well it was mostly out of sympathy. It was embarrassing for people to watch her so out of place on the stage that they were willing her to do something Anything to pick herself up.
Indeed, she was once quite a performer, but that was a while ago. Maybe she should take a Loooong break, get herself back on her feet, then think about recording/performing again.

I think the thing is, she leaves you wanting more. After every crazy stunt there is no explanation and everyone just wants to know why. Also, she seems pretty dim, but still like there may be something going on underneath the surface and people just want to know what. She doesn't seem like a mean-spirited person. There is no real reason to hate her. And everyone is tired of seeing her fall on her face time and again. It would be nice for her to turn everything around just because it would be a change. At first it was kind of fun in a malicious schadenfreude way to see just how far the once mighty had fallen but now it's just really old.
Once upon a time she was such a sparkling little pop star. How could that girl turn into such a train wreck? I think people want the American princess back. |
