I had never heard of this movie until recently. It was playing at an outdoor screening so I went to see it after a few friends told me it was the best movie ever. It was absolutely beautiful and I thought it was fantastic. Here are some YouTube clips of the famous 15 minute ballet sequence of "The Red Shoes" from the film.
It's pretty wonderful. And inspired a good album by Kate Bush. More movies should do that...

ooh I love this film too I watched it by chance it was on TV one day. It's so beautiful. I was only talking about this the other day - was I dreaming or at the end of the movie does she dance off a cliff onto a train track and suicide?
I haven't seen this movie since I was very very young. It really freaked me out. I remember sitting there after it ended feeling like I had been hit by a train. I hated the movie. HATED it. But, again, I was very young. I think I should see it again. Maybe.
