| | | What's eating Gilbert Grape? I just love this movie. I've seen it soooo many times.
It was on tv again yesterday and I watched again.
The fact that Leonardo Dicaprio can play such a role at 16 (or was he 15?) really shows he has REAL talent, unlike most of the young actors in Hollywood at this point...
And well...Johnny Depp, Juliette Lewis.... they're all great really.
And I love the music. And it always always makes me cry.
Especially the scene with Arnie in the bath the whole night because he can't wash himself and Gilbert wasn't there. it's so sad.
and when the mom dies and they burn down the house
I love the scene when Arnie climbs the tower (the first time he does it) and Gilbert gets him down by singing "Match in the gas tank. Boom boom".
discuss this wonderful movie |

| | | I love this film. The whole cast was just wonderful. Leonardo DiCaprio really should have won the supporting acting Oscar for this film.
The whole film was rather bittersweet. |

| | | Ohh i love this film too (who doesn't???)
I love the part where Gilbert has to go and buy a new birthday cake from the big store (when he himself is working in the little shop that's not doing very well anymore) and there are the lobsters and everything... And then his boss sees him coming out of the store with the cake and looks so hurt.. Well that movie is full of little moments like that. And yes, Leo was awesome. |
