| | | The Davinci Code/Anyone else not excited? i'd sick of seeing it every where. i hear about it at least twice a day. then i got pissed off reading some tabloid paper atricle with audrey tatou because they described her as "unkown". ahh...i wont be surprised if this thread doesn't get a response because i seem to be the only one in the world right now who doesn't give a flying fucking flamingo about this film. |

| | | I'll probably go see it 'cause I'm pathetic et all but all this fuss it's- starting to get on my nerves. I believe it's unnecessary. It's a book and it's fiction and it's a movie and we'll see how good it's turned out.

| | I'm a bit fed up of it. I'm not going to see it because I have read the book, and films always ruin it for me by being not at all like I imagined

| | | I guess I'll eventually see it, if someone wants me to go with them but on my own account, I'm not going to see it. I'm not interested in books that brainwash people with things that can't be proved. Also since it's so popular I already hate it. It's like an automatic response with me, it's the rebel within.
I get OFFENDED when people say Audrey Toutou(sp?) is an unknown actress. It's like they don't know anything about anything, Amelie anyone? |

| | | I'm slightly interested in seeing it. I really liked the Last Temptation of Christ and that was all boycotted and protested, at the time, by nutty Christians. I nevermistook it for a re-interpretation of the bible, it was clearly not trying to be that, but presenting an alternative scenario to the Jesus mythology. Ie what if he did give in to temptation which was to be normal & not the son of God.
I haven't read Dan Browns' novel, but I have read 'Holy Blood Holy Grail' which is interesting because it's not fiction but more research-based, on the same idea of the Holy Grail being, literally, a vessel that carries Christs blood: a family bloodline. In 'Holy Blood Holy Grail' they propose that Christ did marry and have children with Mary Magdalene (oooooh how blaspehmous that Jesus could have had sex with an ex-whore, but that whole Magdalene-as-whore is also a myth, rooted in deep seeded misogyny from 2000 years ago anyway) and various sects (the Knights Templar) have kept the secret of his family lineage for 2000 years.
I may see the Da Vinci code in a theatre though. |

| | | I thought it was a pretty tame if forgettable read as a book. I can't imagine it being better as a movie. |

Then again, just cuz she's in it doesn't automatically make it live up to the hype. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
