Cape Wrath -new uk drama series

Did anyone catch it on Tuesday? I was pleasantly suprised. I know have something to look forward to watch during the week! For those of you who haven't seen it or know what it's about , heres a summary.

Starring David Morrissey (The Deal, State of Play, Blackpool) and Lucy Cohu (The Queen’s Sister), new drama Cape Wrath hides a rich seam of secrets beneath its pleasant and welcoming exterior.

When Danny (Morrissey) and Evelyn Brogan (Cohu) and their family move to Meadowlands, they appear to have landed on their feet in a 21st Century suburban paradise. Disease, drug and crime-free, Meadowlands appears to be a town where all is safe, bubble-wrapped against the slings and arrows of urban life.

On the run from their past, the Brogans are here to create a new life as part of a protective custody programme.

But the more the family begin to find out about their surroundings, the less they understand and the greater their paranoia becomes…what is really going on here?

Psychologically gripping, the series explores the nature of identity and memory – asking if anyone can ever really wipe the slate clean?

Cape Wrath will be produced by Ecosse Films (Monarch of the Glen, Becoming Jane).

Senior Drama Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, Francis Hopkinson said: “The quality and ambition of Cape Wrath has attracted a cast of top British actors. In tone, scale and substance this feels like a new departure and adds to the broad variety of Channel 4 drama series, all of which are unique and authored.”

Matthew Arlidge, Head of Television Development at Ecosse Films, said: “With Cape Wrath, we wanted to do something genuinely different. To take the audience to a strange, new world and tell them a story that was surprising, unsettling and intriguing..”

Cape Wrath, created by Robert Murphy (Murder City) and Matthew Arlidge. Written by Robert Murphy, Christopher Dunlop, Stephen Brady and writing team Chris Denne and Joel Jenkins. The producer is Caroline Levy and the executive producers Douglas Rae and Matthew Arlidge. Director of US mega-hit CSI , Duane Clark, has come on board to shoot what will be his first UK produced drama. Further casting will be announced shortly.

It's on every Tuesday at 10 pm for those of you who are interested.
