She was a genius comedian and a good actress. And she had versatility. Has anyone seen Niagra???? exactly. The Misfits?? exactly.

The problem is that she was typecasted as the dumb blond so almost all of her roles were the same so she just didn't have a chance, it doesn't mean she was bad. By the time she died she was hoping to go in a different direction and go with dramatic roles.

Marilyn was given the same shitty roles in Hollywood, which she fought constantly and because of that was labelled as a "troublemaker"; so she left Hollywood and told them to shove those shit role up their asses. This was huge for a woman to do back then.

She went and worked her ass off in The Actor's Studio in NYC. If she had no talent, they wouldn't let her ass through the door there! She later had some great roles, which I guess you missed.

If you really watched her roles, even the stupid, bubblehead ones, she had great timing, and she did make you believe that she was exactly that character she was supposed to be. In real life, she was NOT a stupid bimbo. She was the first woman to negotiate and purchase her own production company. She had those bastards where she wanted them. Too bad she was dead before it got off the ground.

Say what you will, but when men did it, they were called shrewd and tough. She was called a whore and a cunt. I think if she had kept going, she would have been a brilliant actor.
