| | Blockbuster Total Access vs. Netflix I know there's already a Netflix thread, wherein Blockbuster is mentioned, but I just wondered if there's anyone who actually prefers Blockbuster or is willing describe what their online programs are like, from personal experience. I'm toying with the idea of trying them out, but my major hesitation is that my own experience with Blockbuster is really negative. Their in-store selection is pathetic and movies seem to linger for AGES in the New Releases section... But I thought maybe the online version might be better/different, because supposedly there would be a larger pool to draw from. |

| | | Thanks for replying... I agree with you about that, and it's a definite turnoff. I really like Netflix and have no reason to switch, just sometimes I wonder if the added option of returning a movie to a store and walking out with one, instead of waiting for the next mailing would make it worthwhile. Like then I could do the 2 DVD plan instead of 3, so it would be less expensive. But I already complained that Blockbuster's in-store selection is crappy, so who cares if I can walk in and get an extra movie from the store for free, if I can't find anything I want? Except that maybe I would see more new releases by default. But that's not something that really matters to me at all. |

| | | if you wanna see a listing of new releases the best site for that is hollywoodvideo go to movies then new release wall then change the time period to 12 months or 6 months if you wanna see back new releases or else stay with say 12 weeks or something like that then it will want you to view 15 a pace change it to 90 a page.yeah alot of releases stay on the new release wall for about a year at blockbuster, most remain around 9 months on it at my hollywood video but typically anything under a year can be considered a new release.my hollywood video generally has things in but if for some reason you dont catch them on the new release wall good luck locating them in film library.in a way i think redbox could win out for most popular for light users who watch then return the next day.i am far from a light user.i gernerally rent over 100 a year sometimes as many as 300.i have no life.i thought about switching to netflix but i like going out to the store.if all the brick stores close i dont want more walmarts going up ya know. |

| | | Yes, Netflix definitely > Blockbuster.
Hollywood Video also > Blockbuster, though, and I don't believe they even have any online ordering programs.
Pretty much everything > Blockbuster. But I'm biased because Blockbuster employees have always acted like douchebags to me. |

| | | considering blockbuster never seems to have anything in stock, i'm sticking to netflix. i hate blockbuster for this reason. if my local bb wasn't connected to the jimmy john's sub shop, i'd burn it down myself. i hope netflix runs them out of business. /rant
i have major blockbuster rage. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
