EDIT:
I found some info pertaining to this film:
Quote:
Jwala Prasad is to marry the girl of his dreams. On the day of the marriage, she dressed all in red, as is the tradition in India. Just before the wedding she slips off to meet her real lover. When Jwala finds out, be is so enraged at he turns into a monster and kills both the to-be bride and her male friend. The saga does not end here, and this monster continues to terrorize the region, first abducting brides dressed in red just before they the wedding procession stops at a Mandir (temple). When a to-be groom finally confronts and kills the monster, it leaves the body of Jwala Prasad and possesses the body of it's killer. And the terror continues. Years late another male has now killed this creature, and the monster has re-possessed it's body, and it's again on the rampage. The police and men of this region do confront this creature, but find out it is invincible, bullets cannot harm it, nor can physical strength of fully grown men overpower it. The suspense mounts as one by one the brides are killed and no one seems to have a clue, and everybody seems to be suspect, including the village poojari, the Thakur, his son, and several other people. What they do not know is that even if they manage to kill this creature, it will simply re-possess the body of another male, and continue on its gruesome task.
It's apparently one of the most popular Bollywood horror films.

I'm having way too much fun with this. A great deal of these films were made from 1975 - 1988, and are of a genre called "Ramsay", originating from the last name of the brothers that directed such schlock.
This for example,
is a famed Bollywood actress from the '80s, Mandakini, known for her singing and dancing. Her poster depiction doesn't do her justice:
Ninja, I'm going to hijack your thread for a moment to share a clip from Satyam Shivam Sundaram, or Love Sublime, a Raj Kapoor film from 1978 I've been watching on youtube:
A beautiful young woman meets and marries a man, without him from knowing that one side of her face has been scarred since childhood because she keeps the hood of her sari shielded over one side of her face, the rest of her being totally babelicious. Should she let him know? Will he still love her? Great stuff.
I'd have included one of the posters used, but none of them do the film justice--not one image of the beast-vs.-beauty aspect of her face. You'd never suspect what the movie was all about.

Go right ahead. Bollywood films and actors have been intriguing me for quite a while, and I'd get off my butt and do something about that, but a lot of the films I'd like to see aren't readily available.
Here's Mandakini from one of her hit films, Dance Dance, doing exactly that:
And I encourage anyone with anything interesting and Bollywood-related to post it here.
i don't know what 'schlok' is, but i do love bollywood/indian movies.
this isn't bollywood, but it's from the south indian/tollywood film industry. the song is called 'solla solla enna perumai' and it's from the tamil movie 'ellam inba mayam' :
the actor who plays the main character here, kamal hasan, is one of the most respected actors in tamil nadu.
and i find this video to be interesting as well:
it's from 'dil se', a bollywood movie that came out in 1998, i think? but the song was a hit, and it was also featured on the movie 'inside man'.
khaike paan banares wala, from the original version of 'don':
and here's the awesome intro from the same movie:
radha kaise na jale, from lagaan:
that's all for now.

this movie is a classic. i once went to a movie theater that played old indian movies, and they had this flick on. it was really fun to watch because the people in the audience knew every line and would dance in the aisles when the songs came on. it was crazy.
pyar kiya to darna kya, from mughal-e-azam:
also: did anyone here watch 'ghost world'? do you remember this?:
jaan pehchan ho, from the movie 'gumnaam'
i'm going to stop posting now. i feel like i'm completely hijacking your thread or something.

'dum dum diga'. i forget what movie this is from, but this is a really well-known piece:
mehndi laga ke rakhna, from dilwale dulhania le jayenge
rang barse, from silsila
also, there was another movie that came out not too long ago called 'sarkar'. someone uploaded all 13 parts of it on youtube, so you can search for it and watch it for free. they have the version with english subtitles on the site. it's supposed to be the indian version of 'the godfather'. and it has no song-and-dance numbers.
edit: i don't remember if this is the best part of the movie (i haven't watched it in a while), but i just wanted to post a clip of it here. this is part 12 of 13, by the way:
