| | | Movies that disturbed you So, I'm not really one to get disturbed easily, but last night I was watching this movie called Kissed, and was so weirded out I had to turn it off.
It started off with the protagonist as a little girl, and whenever she'd find a dead animal or her cat would kill something she put it in a box. She'd then sneak out of her house in the night while chanting to bring the animal to this grave yard type set up she had. After spinning around in circles and stripping off her clothes, she'd rub the dead animal all over herself and then bury it.
She was kind of a loner (I'm wondering why? hhahaha) but she finally made a friend. Her friend and her would chant with the dead animals and then bury them, but at night the protagonist would come back and rub the dead animals all over herself and then give them a proper burial. Her friend just wasn't as into it as she was. Then one day she decides that she wants her friend to join in, so she bring music to encourage the dancing. The friend dances and stripes off her clothes, no big deal. Then the friend sees her rubbing the dead animal all over her face and there's blood all over her. "Oh, I guess I must have squeezed it too hard." she says. But noooo, she's gotten her fucking period and got blood all over the animal from rubbing it on her nasty crotch. Her friend then runs away (understandably) and gets her mother to call the protagonists mother to say that she was being forced to do witch craft or some shit.
The protagonist is now older, and works in a funeral home. She likes it there, lots of dead bodies and what not, then she meets this guy. She tells the guy that she "makes love" to the dead bodies, but it seems to make him more interested. They go on a date and end up back at his place. She tells him she's never had sex with a living person before and he's all like, just lay there. So, they do it and he falls asleep. While he's sleeping she runs off to the funeral home where she has sex with a dead body. I guess the living guy just didn't cut it for her.
Anyways, I turned it off there. I wish I could have finished watching it cause I'm a pretty open minded person, you know? But, it was fucked right the hell up.
Tell me about a movie that's really disturbed you.

| | | Deathrace 2000; Between waving Nazi flags at the stand, gimp masks and knocking down geriatrics with your car for extra points...and its all supposed to be highly camp and humorous.....I didnt know whether to be pissing myself laughing or to think, what the hell am I watching? This is fucked!!!!
There was another movie, its a bit old, it has this thing where all these people have a problem, and its that they all get really horny at the sight of car crashes, fatal injuries? the better.....NO idea what its called, but highly weird, its like of those cult movies. |

| | | it's called crash.
i got REALLY fucking stoned and watched rquiem for a dream, which was great until the last ten minutes.
also, the video shop i worked at had a softcore film called "white slave virgins", so my mate bought it for 50p and wow. you know when porn spends too much effort on plot? well imagine that, but the plot is about people being sold into sex slavery. it was one half dodgy eastern european version of crimewatch, one half harmless softcore porn. end result: worrying. |

| | | i started watching a movie yesterday called mysterious skin and i had to keep turning it off because it made me so uncomfortable to watch it. it started out with two 8 yr old boys, one was abducted by aliens and one was molested by his little league coach. then they grow up and the one abducted by aliens keeps trying to find out what happened to him and the one molested by his coach turns into a gay prostitute. i felt really weird watching it at some parts. and i almost cried at the end when the one that was abducted by aliens discovers the "truth" |

| | | Oooh all these films sound great, I'm going to have to make a list and watch them after my exams.
My imagination is so stupidly vivid that I get nightmares from most horror films, but for some reason all my scary thoughts ever seemed to fix themselves into sadako from the ring, and I'd have nightmares about her a lot. Her crawling across my room up towards my bed, sitting in the wardrobe or under my desk...I think it was the crawling motion. And then the Omen, the bit where the woman hangs herself near the start and smashes into the window. I keep thinking that someone will do that from above (even though there isn't an 'above' storey in my hall) and smash into my window.
I didn't used to be like this, but the more horror films I watch, the more nervous tics and obsessive habits I get. It's finally catching up with me...
I don't really have any disturbing films that I can list, I haven't watched any films for a while. However, I do remember a film that I watched years ago which shocked me, though I don't remember the name. A man took two girls out in his car by the road, and took their virginity, in turn, while the other waited in the back of the car; I didn't watch the rest, I was too tired. I'm not sure why I found it so repulsive, but it was all so wrong, and very 70s. It wasn't porn, it was actually a film. Seriously. Not really shocking in a disturbing way, just in quite a horrible blunt way. |

I remember feeling quite uncomfortable when i watched it in a movie theatre with someone i'd just met, but it's a very good film.
ichi the killer disturbed me beyond belief, i was watching it with kesh and when the scene where he cuts someones tongue off i had to run out of the room and vomit. yuck. |

| | | Pi, Donnie Darko, Guinea Pig 2: Flower of Flesh and Blood (which is as gruesome and mind-fucking as it sounds), and Fight Club which didn't scare me it made me go hogshit in the field near my house, absolutely crazy, in a literal sense of the word. I thought I was 5 versions of myself, I kept calling (as in talking aloud to) myself: I (the bland/idle me), I (the nameless/Zen-like me), myself (the identity/experiencial me), Luke (the superficial/social me), and me (my true self). It was weird, I was tripping a lot, it was 5am, and it was -20 degrees celsius. Movies have a way with me. So now Fight Club is in my top 3. Any movie that can make me do that in a fulfilling way is up there for sure.
And I have to mention Pi again because it's claustrophobic in a way when you're depressed.

I Spit on Your Grave. I own the special edition dvd because of the director's commentary wherein he explained why he wrote and directed the film in the first place. It is not and was never intended to be exploitation, he just had the misfortune of no one wanting to release the film except for a company in Florida that specialized in the genre. The whole first half is awful for me, and the build up to it was excruciating for me on the first viewing (crappy vhs tape, and I ended up fast-forwarding through it); but once she kicks off the revenge, I'm in love with the film. I can't think of anyone in cinema being more deserving of castration in a bathtub.
Those two are it for me. I refuse to subject myself to films with extreme physical and sexual abuse, but those are the two exceptions. Quote: |

And it's Araki we're talking about here, so I was a bit confused by that. Did I just miss the point? |
