Elijah Wood to play Iggy Pop
Former Hobbit will portray the Stooge

'Lord Of The Rings' star Elijah Wood is set to play Iggy Pop in a movie about his life.

The biopic, entitled 'The Passenger', concentrates on Pop's early career with The Stooges, and is set to begin filming within six months.

According to Variety, Pop has "given his blessing" to the project but will not take part in it".

Pop recently reunited with The Stooges and the band are currently touring in support of their first album in over 30 years,
'The Weirdness'.

The band will continue their outing with performances at festivals worldwide over the summer, including sets at Glastonbury in June and Lollapalooza in Chicago in August.

If he is shirtless in silver pants I will feel like an old perve. I do not see the casting choice either, but admittedly want to see him in the above mentioned ensemble. And if he is making out with a Bowie look alike - all the better.

Iggy Pop is old enough to be my dad but he's still way fucking hotter than hobbit boy, that boy's gonna have to do some serious gym time to reach those greek god physique standards.
