I just saw this movie, after anticipating it for over a year, and it halfway lived up to my anticipation. The movie is typical uneven indie fare but when it works, it works well but there is a lot wrong with it. Mainly, David Duchovney's character. It's just such an unlikable character that you don't really care that his show is being ruined because him, and the whole show, are just awful.
The bright spot are all the terrific supporting players. Judy Greer is fantastic as Duchovney's sugar coating manager, Ioan Gruffud is effective as the side man to Sigourney Weaver's evil network boss. Which brings me to the best part of the movie, Sigourney Weaver.
We all know I'm a big Weaver tard but she really is fantastic in this, it eclipses her similar role in Working Girl and should (but probably wont *sigh*) get her a lot of attention.
