| | | Why do you continue to ask questions so vapid and trivial that the mould in Hunter S. Thompson's old basement could answer without even trying to evolve to some form that has a mouth and a brain?

Like there are some obvious mistakes, how come no one notices them???? I need an explanation. |

Why does human life exist? becuase we wanted to give love like God and we come into this world to learn how to do that. See, it's all our fault. |

| | Simply put, goofs are in films because they're mistakes that somehow get by the film's editors. It takes a careful eye and a steady hand to catch them, and even then, the finished film may still have some errors. Due to that, I can understand why some directors (such as Woody Allen) have multiple takes of scenes as well as edit their own films.
As this site can show you, just about any film can have numerous mistakes, some aren't blatantly obvious, and others are very easy to spot: Movie mistakes - goofs, bloopers, pictures, quotes and trivia from thousands of movies |

| | It does depend on teh type of goof, which are: Quote: - Somebody or something from the filmcrew is in the picture (e.g., camera and cameraman is reflected in a mirror, or the microphone is visible).
- Chronological or conditional errors (e.g. a cigarette getting longer with the next scene, or a bruise wandering from the left to right leg).
- Historical inaccuracies and anachronisms (e.g., an HDTV set in a film set in the 1970s).
| There is also someone on the set who is in charge of script continuity, who has to keep track of the scenes filmed and where they pick up so as to avoid chronological/conditional errors.
Any historical inaccuracies/anachronisms should ideally be caught from the get-go, as they may just be errors in the script/on-set.
Boom-mics and such being visible onscreen can be easy to fix, as they can be cropped out (and these days they can be digitally removed).
The goofs can either be easily fixed or just completely out of the editor's hands. It takes a dedicated crew and an eye for detail to prevent them from happening. Quote: |

| | | Sofia Coppola's biggest influence for Marie Antoinette was Ken Russell's Lisztomania, a biographical film about composer/piano virtuoso Franz Liszt, which featured modern/surreal imagery. So as best I can tell, Sofia meant for the jet stream to be left in on purpose, much like the shoe scene with the pair of chuck taylor converse (as well as the use of the new wave/modern soundtrack). |

There is also another scene where Count Mercy puts a coockie on a plate twice. |

I'm not intending to come across as if I'm defending Sofia's skills as a filmmaker, as I'm hardly a fan. All I know she is crazy for Ken Russell's films and he is one of her major influences (she certainly wouldn't let anyone forget that in interviews during the film's release). Or maybe she just never caught that or didn't care? I'm merely trying to help answer your questions (no one else seems willing to do so).
The cookie being put on the plate twice would be up to whoever was in charge of script continuity. |

I mean implying that they were jetplanes in 1778 would take away complete realism to the film, just like including those damn converse, that almost ruined the whole film, but they were included unpurpose. | |
