i wont lie, i wanted to see this only for a couple of reasons
eric bana has godlike hands and wonderous hair and (bizarrely) amazing legs
however
curtis hanson made the great 'la confidential' and i loved 'wonder boys' and i even sort of liked 'in her shoes'. i dont think i need to mention that '8 mile' was shitty. o and i saw 'the river wild' at the drive in when i was about 8. i still remember. its the only time i ever went to the drive in.
i love poker movies. i think the best one is 'rounders'. no one is a better worm than ed norton.
'lucky you' seemed like a bit of a cop out. its easy to get distracted by bana. drew barrymroe should be banned from being in movies unless shes doing some kind of sandler x farrelly bros x softy movie. i dont really think its appropriate for her to be singing either
basically im peeved about it because i think it could have been a whole lot better, dont you guys think? it was like in la confidential there wasnt one wasted character in the whole thing, it was so full of brilliant lines and performances and we didnt even get one in this film.

I met an extra who ended up playing a game of poker with Robert Duvall and Bana in the movie. He was the asian guy. There was too much poker in the movie. yawn. |
