My love goes out to the man. I've been going through a bit of a Sellers' phase lately. Anyone else care to elaborate? Dr. Strangelove, The Pink Panther, The Magic Christian (okay, a bad movie with Ringo Starr, but he was the best part nonetheless), Being There...
That dude was friggin hilarious. Without the Goon Show there would have been no Monty Python! My favorite role of his was as Claire Quilty in "Lolita."
I heart Peter Sellers. I grew up on the Pink Panther series and to this day the only thing that makes me laugh out loud is slapstick/physical comedy. God that man was genious!
I love him and What's New Pussycat's first 5 minutes is in my opinion the funniest few minutes of a film ever. I watch it a lot. It's cheese and camp but good fun and with an unnecessary go cart chase, Peter O'Toole , Woody Allen, Cappucine, Ursulla Andress and a song by Tom Jones you can't lose. My Mom and I would always go see the Pink Panther films when I was young.
I just saw the goons on vinyl the other day but was afraid to ask how much it was...
The Life and Death of Peter Sellers was a great film, but it certainly did show his flaws.
