omg, I loved this movie. The story is kinda confusing, lots of holes but it's a great film, it's visually stunning. I think I enjoyed it more than Hero.

And Gong Li, I have no words, she was like a heavenly appearance, loved her.

Lots of holes? What are you talking about?

But I'll agree on the movie, it was great. The direction and cinematography was beyond average. It was amazingly well shot, one of the best examples or visual direction I've seen in a very, very long time.

I don't know, the story didn't come together very well. Why was he trying to kill the Empress?? what would it benefit him??

It's all over the place. But I definetley like it, and Gong Li's look, I mean it was mesmerizing.

He wanted to kill her because he didn't like her. He just wanted to take the power that came with marrying her since she was the old emperor's daughter. If he killed her quietly then he wouldn't have to deal with her anymore. Plus, it was also payback for her sleeping with his son.
