I love The Bell Jar - I know what you mean Wildwoman abou not feeling that way about it any more, but I still do. I first read it 8 years ago, and still find something new in it every time I read it. I also just love the prose - I read it quite often.

She looks kind of how I imagine Esther to look, but that's about it. And the bit about making it uplifting - how offensive.
