| | | it kind of felt forced, like too odd or weird. it tries too hard to be this weird suburban family comedy a'la american beauty. and some scenes were awful. annette bening started to annoy me. evan rachel wood was beautiful but her character too felt forced, when she cries on the phone and stuff. gwyneth was wasted. only jill clayburg affected me slightly. and i didn't like that the gay scenes were too tame, as if the actors were scared of doing stuff. but it was okay, i guess. it reminded me of this film called white oleander, which i preferred. |

Here is an article from the January issue of Vanity Fair that I thought was very interesting regarding the credibility of Running With Scissors: Ruthless with Scissors: Fame & Scandal: vanityfair.com
And quite frankly, anyone who changes their name from "Chris" to "Augusten" when they get published can kiss my ass. |

I personally hated this movie. And I REALLY wanted to like it - it had so much potential. But it left me feeling cold ....
The best depressing movie that I've seen recently is "sherrybaby," with Maggie Gylenhaal. It was so fucking amazing ... I even cried. I hardly ever cry at movies, except for when I watched "The Green Mile." |

| | | EVEN if burroughs is like james frey and made it all up and marketed it as a memoir (im not holding that against anyone ever anyway) the film was still a bad adaptation of the book in its present form
it was like the film failed to have any of the essential endearing parts of the book
i mean, natalie was "fat" in the book and i was really hoping to see her wandering around town in a mcdonald's uniform except the film just skanked her up in platform shoes and big doe eyes
the film totally decided to make this agnes/augusten relationship into something way more meaningful than was prevalent (in my opinion) in the book
and urgh neil bookman was all wrong

Has anyone came forth about Neil Bookman by the way? I know the Turcotte family has, but I wonder whatever happened to that guy... |

| | | jesus christ, you're an idiot. "i would have loved to have lived it"? Uh, his childhood was pretty fucked, thats the whole angle. the movie sucks. augusten burroughs, as an author and as a human being is intelligent and hilarious. i love him because he reminds me of myself though. except for the whole gay male thing.
