The other thread is too long and started under my previous name.
Does anyone have any information on season 8? I know it is still up in the air. Alexis hasn't signed on. I really want an 8th and final season. I would have been okay with this being the final season since it is a natural ending of sorts--Rory graduating, mainly. BUT the way the season has played out has been pretty awful. Dreadfully slow. The nothingness of the other seasons is just that --NOTHINGNESS-- in this season.
I fear that season 8 would be worse, but I do want the storylines to be resolved...for better or for worse. I have been reading lots of spoilers and it doesn't look like this season will have time to do it. I can't see it ending this season...except they could do like a two hour series final sort of thing like with Dawson's Creek.
And while I was being a dork on gilmoregirlsnews.com I was directed to Kirk's Town Tours.

i went on kirk's tour the other day.
i ended up being a little bummed.
i was hoping he'd show a bit more of the gilmore home, not just clips from episodes when he was in the house.
i really hope there will be a season 8 as well, but i haven't heard any recent news about it.

this is what an unofficial "yet official" source said:
Negotiation Info. Was also told that Lauren is signed up for another year for GG. That's a certain. Everyone is waiting on Alexis. David says that Alexis does not want to return to the show, at all. Lauren, he believes, is applying pressure to Alexis, because since she is now recorded as a producer, this helps her production company immensely for future projects. In order to insure this status, GG must continue another year I asked if it was possible for a partial year -- 11 episodes, to tie up loose ends. He said yes, it's possible. It's also possible to have Rory to make cameo appearances as well. David also mentioned that they could do a 2-hr movie or a mini-series (2, 2-hr movies) to complete GG. All of these ideas, David assures me, has been approached to Alexis with little or no success. Lauren is the big gun now that WB is using to help persuade her otherwise
but again the girl psting info didn't quote a source except that she said it was "official" so... i would take it with a grain of salt.
b/c there is an episode coming up when Lorelai goes drinking & kareokes. & she's suppose to sing "Fernando" by Abba however, they've changed it too "I Will Always Love You" by Dolly Parton. the last episode in this season is also called "BON VOYAGE"
I've only seen half of this season, and I like it less now that Amy is gone.
It's missing something, and it's not just Luke and Lorelei, it's lost it's twist it seems.
I recently bought all 6 seasons on DVD, and am very disappointed Lorelei ended up getting married to Chris in season 7, it just doesn't feel right.
The network that airs it here decided to stop airing it mid season, and it will continue in May.
I hope Lauren (who according to spoilerfix.com won't sign unless Alexis does) can convince Alexis to sign for at least a few more episodes, we need to clean the mess this season has become up.
Lorelei and Chris need to divorce, and Luke and Lorelei need to hook up again, for real this time, with April living with them.
I mean it's a feel good show, why end it with Lorelei and Luke apart?
THAT DOESN'T FEEL GOOD!
He's always loved her (and vice versa) so they need to be together.

Hah, you're so right. it doesn't feel good anymore. I had to start reading spoilers to get through the whole Lorelai-Chris thing. I won't spoil it for you.
Like tigz said, Lauren and Scott Patterson have signed on to do another year. Alexis is still holding out, apparently. We should know for sure before mid-May. But I wanna know now! I would be content with a half season...and I guess it would be okay if it was a sort of mini-series deal. The spoilers say that Rory is leaving...where could she be going to? Is David Rosenthal covering his tracks just in case Alexis decides to leave? I guess they're trying to set it up for an ending 'cause it looks very very possible.
I'm currently watching season four. <3 Paris in this season. She is fucking her professor. It's also the spring break season.

As much as I feel the Rory character has suffered for almost three seasons now, it'd be almost like killing off the show if she was not on there. This is, after all, a show about their relationship. Perhaps the reason why it has felt a little flat is because they both seem to have been dealing with their own lives, naturally, and not experiencing stuff together like they used to. Hah this is so unrealistic. To expect mother and daughter to continue sharing their life to the extent we'd find it fun to watch on tv. ANYWAY, the entire premise is kind of unrealistic, but anyway.

i agree.
and the show is called gilmore girls.
if rory wasn't there, the show just wouldn't make any sense.
i find it a little strange that they are considering having alexis do cameos appearances.

No it's cool, the network here stopped airing after the whole "introduce Christopher to the town" episode (which seems weird since he's been there plenty of times) and have read spoilers ever since.
I just needed to know Lorelei would sabotage this relationship like all the others she had to be with Luke.
I liked her with Jason though, he was so neurotic that they made a nice pair.
After I bought the DVDs I watched 6 seasons in 3 weeks without missing any of my regular shows and I helped my sister fix up her house too.
Who needs sleep?
I just started re-watching them and am now in season 3 where Dean just dumped Rory.
It's weird the things you notice.
For instance, Lorelei and Rory live off coffee and Luke's food, yet they never finish a meal or their cup of coffee.
And they hardly ever pay Luke.
Haha, Digger wasn't so bad. It was just an odd pairing.
The episode when Dean dumps Rory at the dance competition is one of my favorites.

Next episode: Hay Bale Maze
As Stars Hollow prepares for its annual Spring Fling festival, Rory brings Logan home and shows him around town. Lorelai sees how serious their relationship has become and worries that Logan is too irresponsible for Rory. Taylor angers the town by spending the entire Spring Fling budget on a huge hay bale maze. At an unexpected encounter in the maze, Lorelai and Luke apologize to one another and admit they both made mistakes that led to the end of their engagement. Meanwhile, Rory has a job interview with the Providence Journal Bulletin and struggles with decisions about her future.
