a bunch of years ago i posted on this board. and i remember being a participator in a very active thread about magnolia. i rewatched it the other night and six years on or whatever its been since that thread - with helluva lot more life under my experience does it ever hit harder. my gosh i can hardly believe it exists, it's real! paul thomas anderson can strut or swagger eternally - whichever he might prefer for that one. it's amazing, just amazing.

yeah it was better the second time i saw it too, plus i love Aimee Mann now and i didn't know her the first time round.
I have ambiguous feelings about the frogs though, not sure if it was being quirky for quirky's sake.

yeah. i think in general ive been much more sensistive to all kinds of movies with as time goes by. the real ones like magnolia which is EPIC and real at the same time is once in a lifetime. there is almost nothing out there that good.

for a smaller film you should see Come Early Morning. its really good!

the frogs weren't gimmicky, the frogs were climatic. inspired. genius.

now i saw a preview with hilary swank in it today for some movie about plagues - that's a gimmick.
