it's a wonderful film, i'm not sure i like that it was changed to a happy ending from the novella.

I like it just superficially, even though or maybe because it is so artificial... Like how George Peppard is handsome and manly but sorry, I don't believe he and Patricia Neal are doing it! It's all HER and he's just this pouting baby about it, there is no sex in it at all. And, like the party scene, or the WRETCHED Mickey Rooney character. Ugh ugh ugh. But the setting and Audrey are gorgeous. I barely associate it with the book, they are definitely two different creatures entirely. I think a lot about what a true adaptation of the book would be like, like with a handsome/sexy Japanese photographer and stuff with the bartender, and it having more of a real ragged-at-the-edges, bohemian feel.

You deceive yourself. Suffering is amusing and may even do work in a situation where two people are connected with each other. Where there is no mutual connection it is undignified, grotesque and ugly. It is seen to be something totally pointless and unnecessary, like all the rest of the suffering human beings do every day. There is now no relationship between us and I find your contortions merely embarrassing.

i love love love this movie.
i made my boy watch it and he even liked it. which is saying a lot for him.

it's about 5 hours too long, but there are parts that are amazing.

the movie was eh. but audrey hepburn was magic, at the absolute peak of her charm. someone should post pics.

i just saw this movie recently. before i did i assumed it was an old, stupid bore.

i wish someone told me earlier that the main character was a glammy prostitute with a lot of secrets. i would have seen it sooner.

someone told me i have intimacy issues like holly.

I really liked the book and thought the film was a complete let down. I just don't think Hepburn was right for the part as she comes accross in the book. Not at all.

I've still only read the book.
