| | | The Roadshow is great. On last week's episode, a lady was given a big old
oil painting and they appraised it at $30,000. She was just stunned.
I love when that happens. |

| | | I like the English one because it's like:
Valuer: This vase is worth ten thousand pounds.
Vase Owner: Oh? You don't say? Well, I better insure it then, hadn't I?
But on the American one it's like:
Valuer: This vase is worth two hundred dollars.
Vase Owner: Oh! Oh my GAWD! I never KNEW that! OH MY GOD! THANK YOU!
I like the British restraint, personally.

I love that too! you could tell an American it was worth 20 dollars and they'd still have the same reaction. |

| | | My mum and I have a thing about Antiques Roadshow, Keeping Up Appearances, and Are You Being Served.
The stuff that people dig up and bring to Antiques Roadshow can be so fascinating, I love seeing crazy old shit from people's houses. However, I must admit that I can't stop seeing the US one as a rip-off. |
