Big Trouble in Little China = Worst movie ever made?

MOVIE star Kurt Russell's 1986 film Big Trouble in Little China has been named as the worst of all time.

The kung fu fighting flick beat the 1982 sex comedy Porky's into second place. Tacky erotic dancing movie Showgirls was third.

The 1989 action film Best of the Best, which starred Eric Roberts, was also branded one of the worst of the worst by the US magazine Maxim.

film critic David Edwards said: "Big Trouble in Little China is a bad film - but it's a long way from being the very worst.

"Where on the list are crimes against cinema like Glitter, Basic Instinct 2, Pluto Nash or every movie Madonna has been in?

"My vote for worst movie ever made goes to the sci-fi film Battlefield Earth."

The top 10: 1 Big Trouble in Little China; 2 Porky's; 3 Showgirls; 4 Dolemite; 5 Dead Alive; 6 Billy Madison; 7 The Island of Dr Moreau; 8= Commando and Missing in Action; 10 Best of the Best.

----

I love Big Trouble in Little China, and Commando.

Awww, I liked "big trouble"...

Bang for your buck, the worst movie on that list must be showgirls.

Most of that list is pretty rotten, but the top two are actually genuine classics. Movie writers are such hacks.

to survive in the memory that long you have to be kinda good.

I've seen some utter bollocks, the worst being Trolls 2. Dosn't actually have the word troll in the script, characters are introduced 30 minutes from the end without explanation, the acting is beyond appalling, all the ideas and scenes are crap (a ghost appears without warning without any mention of the supernatural afterlife, a boy pisses on a dinner table to prevent his family eating magic food, someone turns into popcorn at somepoint, someone else turns into a tree)

however, I would watch it again. start to finish.

the worst crime for anything is being boring.

I fucking LOVED big trouble in little china movie when I was a kid. pffffft. Showgirls may be bad, but at least its got kitsch status and people remember it unlike 1000s of shite AND forgettable movies that have come out. Winners for biggest flop but not WORST movie. Check out the history of Razzie nominees for that.

Obviously they've never seen
Manos: Hands of Fate

or...

Sidehackers (one of the leads gets raped to death)

or...

Hobgoblins

or...
Space Mutiny

Seriously. There are some awful cinematic abortions out there (thanks MST3K!), and quite frankly, Commando and Big Trouble in Little China do not even come close.

Youtube can help you out, my friend. It's merely the MST3K episode, but it's fantastic.
A couple clip compilations to give you a taste of what you're in for:

Quick edit here, but Space Mutiny was such a colossal failure that the 'director' gave up his film career and became a born-again Mormon.

it should be no secret that i actually love all of those movies, & own at least 3/4ths of them on dvd. including glitter.

in fact, glitter is my goddamn favorite on that list. rightfully right after showgirls.

Now that I think of it, Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon is shockingly bad. If still very easy to love. The highlight is De Barge lip-synching to Rhythm of the Night.

i always thought that Plan 9 From Outer Space was considered the worst film ever made. but i'd rather sit through that than any of the shit mentioned in this thread.
