Director of quite possibly one of the best horror movies ever "Suspiria"! its an awesome movie. Been trying to get a hold of the sequel "Inferno" but cant find it! his body of work is cool.... his version of The Phantom of The Opera was cool also.... any other fans?

That's what I suspected. I gotta say that I've been surpsrised by the real-life demeanors of horror film directors such as Argento and George Romero. Their films and subjects can be rather grotesque, but in interviews, they come off as really sweet and enthusiastic about their craft.
I totally love Argento, his daughter, and his film work.
It's such a shame he lost his style in the 90's. The Stendahl Syndrome and Trauma were okay, but everything he directed after that was tripe (yes, Phantom of the Opera, I'm looking in your direction.)
ugh. opera made me nervous through the whole movie. that first murder scene where the lead's "boyfriend" is killed is one of the creepiest movie moments ever.

i had to revive this thread, i adore argento i love all his movies except phenomana which is apalling. favourites are bird with the crystal plumage, stendhal syndrome and suspiria which does have the best opening death scene ever! and i love the music to it, the song in deep red though gets stuck in my head and drives me mad.
i love tenebrae too, that 5 minute shot scaling the house is amazing and the death scenes are so weirdly beautiful. i did an argento photoshoot where i got dressed as the first victem in tenebrae and had to lie in a freezing studio in a big white shirt, with loads of fake blood and limbs at weird angles, they went to sleep after a while.
I loved suspiria. I heard Deep Red is also really good. I wanna see that.
I own both. And they are both nuts.
Deep Red complements Antonioni`s Blow Up well. If you get a chance, watch them back to back. Same lead actor, same themes, and both directors are dope-as-fuck Italians.
So I've finally seen The Mother of Tears and i was amazed! It was brilliant. The blood and guts were horrific and the story was well put together in order to finish the trilogy. Great to see Daria Nicolodi and Asia Argento in it. And the soundtrack as usual was brilliant! Anyone else seen it yet?
