"Music and Lyrics"/Hugh & Drew

I just saw this tonight, and really enjoyed it! Anyone else? I was surprised not to find another thread about this already...

I always love to see either Drew Barrymore or Hugh Grant, and the Manhattan setting was a plus. I was leery of the previews but really wanted to see a movie and nothing else appealed to me so I went anyway, and I'm glad I did-- it was very sweet and funny. The performances were uniformly pleasing (Brad Garrett did not annoy me at all!).

It was fine-- if you saw any of the previews, that was it, just the one scene when they're recording the demo. Pleasantly adequate! I would have liked if it sounded more "natural" but I always feel that way about vocals in movies. I would really like to hear what she sounded like on "Everybody Says I Love You"... I remember the implication was that she was too loud, or unmodulated, to convincingly sing soft, sweet, romantic songs as an ingenue. But soft & sweet is exactly how she sounds in M&L, maybe it's just that today they can finesse things more than they were able to back then. And the style of music in M&L, is probably also more inherently forgiving.

I love this movie so much!
The opening weekend I went and saw it twice. I can't wait for it to be out on DVD.
I love Drew & Hugh, so this was just great. I want to get the soundtrack, but I don't think it's out for some reason. I can't find it in any stores & when I tried to order it from Amazon they kept sending me messages saying it would ship later & eventually I just cancelled the order.
