The three sisters, can't remember the names. One is Dante's ex in Clerks, one is the girl writing a sex book in Mallrats (Trish I think), and of course Joey Laurence Adam's character in Chasing Amy. |

Everyone I talk to looks at me like I'm crazy for saying "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" is my least favorite. They also look at me funny whenever I tell them that I love "Clerks" and "Chasing Amy", since those two seem to be the ones that everyone I know likes least. |

JASBSB is actually SHIT, one of the least funny peices of trash i've seen. | i love chasing amy, but i guess because out of all of them 'clerks' and 'chasing amy' are the more 'serious' ones. but that's why i like them. especially "chasing amy", that one really gets me.
i mean, i get JASBSB, it's kinda amusing, but...i've seen kevin smith do better. but because it stars Jay and Silent Bob, everyone seems to know him for that movie. then again, i'm probably younger than most people who are fans of Clerks, and JASBSB seems to be geared more for my age group. a shame.
i got in a debate with someone because they were trying to tell me 'jersey girl' was better than both clerks and chasing amy. go figure. |

But i wouldn't call myself a Smith fan, no. Clerks i think is a very funny independant film, the acting is very dodgy at times and there are other problems which one would expect from a cheaply made debut, but it is the sort of film i'll watch every few years and get laughs from it.
Mallrats was alot weaker i think, i didn't really think much of it. Chasing Amy worked well as a more commercial and sentimental peice, but it's far from a masterpeice. Dogma was pretty good, his most accessible. Jay and Silent Bob was the last one i saw and i didn't enjoy it at all, i just thought the jokes were pretty weak and crude. The characters work much better in cameos imo. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | | | |
